Father's Day

We had fun celebrating Father's Day with Jake. The kids & I made him breakfast before church. After church we all took a nap! We enjoyed a relaxing day at home! He's a wonderful dad. He works so hard (out in this heat) but is never too tired to play and be silly with the kids. Happy Father's Day Jake! We love you!

Happy Birthday & Father's Day Dad

My dad's birthday was the day after Father's day. We had a party for him to celebrate both! Sarah wasn't in picture mood that night. I love my dad. He's always there for us and is a really fun grandpa to the kids! Happy Birthday & Father's Day Dad~ We love you!

New Car

This week we said good-bye to my CRV. I loved that car. It was the first car that I got to pick out & the first car that Jake & I bought when we got married & I got my first teaching job! Anyway, that car held lots of memories for me- road trips, bringing babies home from the hospital, atcually almost having Sarah in the car on the way to the hospital! It was a good car to us but we are outgrowing it! We traded it in and bought my mom's mini-van. Woo-hoo. I've always wanted a mini-van. Just kidding. It will be nice though. Everyone has plenty of room, it has a DVD player which the kids love, and most importantly, all THREE kids will fit in it!

Road Trip Part 1- Baton Rouge

Last weekend we went to Baton Rouge to see my family.
We went to celebrate Papaw's 77th Birthday! He had a really nice party with lots of friends and family.

Our whole group was there!
My Uncle Buddy has a really nice backyard and deck area. It's the perfect place for a party. The kids loved the swing!
We stayed at Grams' house & enjoyed our visit with her too! She's so sweet!

Road Trip Part 2- Galveston

After we went to Baton Rouge we spent a few days in Galveston. My mom, Jenn & Sammy went too. It was lots of fun. The kids had a blast playing at the beach! We swam, played, relaxed, ate at Rainforest cafe, slept late (well later than usual in the dark hotel room- I love those curtains, the kids sleep so much later!). It was wonderful- I love being on vacation!!!

Our Weekend

This weekend was so much fun, I didn't want it to end! How could it not be great when it started out like this:

Jake came home from work with flowers for his girls! Our neighborhood pool opened. My mom, Jenn & I took the kids swimming on Saturday. That night we had a camp...in? (see below!). We relaxed, read, hung out at home, had family over for BBQ, ice cream and played silly games! It was the perfect weekend!

Memorial Day

I'm so thankful for all of the brave men & women who are serving or have served in our military! So thankful for those who sacrificed their lives for our country. In our family- my grandfathers were both in the service, my uncle Maruice, and cousins Brian, Kevin and Clay all served also. So did my father-in-law. (I hope I didn't forget anyone) Currently my cousin's husband Patrick is serving, as well as our friends JT and Daymon. Would you please pray for their safety and for their families while they are away. I am praying and so very grateful for what they are doing!

Camping at home!

I thought it would be fun to go camping this weekend. Jacob who works outside in the heat all day, every day- was not convinced! He wanted to stay inside in the a/c! So we compromised and camped at home!
We set up the tent in the playroom.

Then went outside and grilled hot dogs, And roasted marshmallows for S'mores!

The kids had a blast sleeping in the tent. It took them forever to calm down enough to go to sleep!

The next day Sammy came over- they played and colored in the tent,
and Adam played some camp songs!
It was lots of fun and Jake was right- it was so much cooler than sleeping outside!
We do love to go camping but in the summer in Texas, a/c is good too!
