See why we needed a fakcation?

The little enegizer bunny wears us out. Here's his latest. Yes, that's the bathroom sink. Yes, it's filled with water. Yes, he's half naked, pretending to take a bath when he was supposed to be washing his hands. What will the boy think of next?

Today is our 6 year anniversary! It has flown by. We must be having fun!

"Fakcation"

The kids spent the weekend at the grandparents. Jacob and I took the weekend off. It was wonderful & realaxing and so much cheaper & less stressful than a real vacation.

Adam Update

Adam had a dr. visit too. Like his sister, the dr. said he was perfect too, as perfect as a three year old boy can be. He compared him to the energizer bunny and he's right. The boy is full of energy, and acting more and more like a BOY every day. He's into play fighting and super heros and thinks bodily noises are very funny. He's still likes to play with animals and little people, and of course he still loves playing music. I am amazed at how many letters he recognizes! He recently got an art box with markers, crayons, paper, and his very own scissors...

He's so funny and smart. He's sweet and snuggly and we pretty much think he's perfect too.

Sarah is 10 Months Old!

Our sweet smiley girl is now 10 months old. She had a dr. visit today and all is well. His exact words were "she's perfect!" And that's an official medical opintion. Aside from her happy disposition, she is also crawling everywhere and trying to pull up on everything. She's officially "into everything" and I have a video to prove it...

Thankful Thursday- VBS & Girl Time

I'm thankful that this week Adam is getting to go to Vacation Bible School for the first time. He's having so much fun. They learn Bible stories, do a craft, eat a snack, sing and dance, and play on the playground. He's really enjoying it.

While Adam is having fun at Bible School, Sarah & I have been enjoying some quality girl time together. We've been shopping, eating together, and chatting. You know, girl stuff. Last night I was trying on some clothes and she clapped for the things she liked. I'm thankful for my little shopping partner!

It's been a year...

I started this blog one year ago. It's been quite a year and it's been fun sharing it with all of you. This time last year I was very pregnant and had a two year old, we were getting ready to go on a family vacation to Sea World, and Jacob & I were about to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary.

Fast forward one year and now I have a 10 month old!, a 3 year old, a new house, and an upcomming 6 year anniversary. Have you ever heard that some of the most stressful life events are having a baby, moving, and starting a new job? Well, it's true. And we did them all this past year. I think we need another vacation. :)

Superman and his little helper

Adam just loves that Sarah is getting big enough to play with him. This morning he was playing Superman and wanted to put on his costume. He let Sarah wear his Superman pj's so she could play too. They are so sweet together! :)

Happy Birthday Papa!

This weekend we celebrated my dad's birthday & Father's day with him (he was out of town last weekend). For one of his gifts, we got tickets for the whole family to go to a Ranger's game. Adam, Sam, and Papa all got matching hats for the game. He also got some fishing gear so he can take the kids fishing! As for party entertainment, Papa took the boys on a ride on the "tractor" (some would call it a lawn mower but not our 3 and 4 year old boys!) He's such a fun grandpa to my kids!

Thankful Thursday Friday Edition

I'm thankful that we've been having such a fun summer week that I've been to busy to update. We've been...swimming, eating chocolate pudding, having O.C. Burgers & fries for a picnic on the living room floor (yum), doing some shopping, having some friends over to see our new house, going to the waterpark, getting some sunburns (ouch), buying fresh summer fruit to eat, playing with imaginary friends (well, Adam has) going to the library, reading library books, signing up for swim lessons, potty training (Adam again) and taking some naps. It's been a nice week. Next week looks like more of the same. Nice. I love summer.

New House Pictures

Here are some pictures of the new house. I'm having issues loading it, so just ignore the "http" and enjoy the slideshow! :) I still have a few pictures that I need to hang up, so some of the walls look a little bare.

http://

I love organizing...

I really do. It's this weird obsession I have. I love buckets and baskets, and everything lined up in neat little rows, and not seeing any clutter. I love it. The problem is I don't love keeping things organized as much as I love the initial organizing of them. So, unfortunately they don't stay as neat as I would like them to. I'm going to work on that. Here are a few pictures from when things were freshly unpacked and so neatly organized...

If only they would stay that way.

Water Baby

Well our little summer baby absolutely LOVED her first swimming experience. She would smile, splash and laugh for a while, then lean back and relax in her float just enjoying the water, then splash some more. It was very cute. Adam had fun swimming too!

Happy Father's Day

We had a good Father's day. This morning Adam and I made breakfast, then the kids gave Jake a few gifts. We went to church and heard a nice message about the important role dads play in lives of their children. After church we all took a nap. Then we went to Jacob's dads house to swim and eat dinner. It was a nice day. My kids are so lucky to have such an awesome, fun, happy dad to look up to. And two wonderful grandfathers who love them very much. Happy Father's Day!

Our First Little Overnight Visitor

This weekend we had our first overnight visitor at our new house. Guess who it was... SAMMY!!
He and Adam had a great time together!

First they looked at everything in his suitcase.

Sarah had to see too.

Then they went outside to play golf (like Papa).

And to play...whatever this is here.

They had pizza for dinner.

They made animal shaped cookies that they got to decorate with edible paint!

Well, they tasted better than they looked.

They watched a movie, Adam wanted to snuggle.

Then they went to sleep in Adam's room!

It was fun and we will have to do it again soon!

1. I really, really, really don't like frogs.
2. I have to have the fan on when I sleep.
3. I love to organize but then I don't keep up with it and things end up messy, which bugs me.
4. I'm a compulsive list-maker, I always have a list going of some kind.
5. I absolutely love summer but I hate to be hot. It makes me crabby.
6. It drives me crazy to not have my toes painted.

I will tag Jenn, Aunt Amy & Aunt Cathy! I know that's not 6, but that's who I think will do it. :)

I am also thankful for...

It's that time again...

It's Thankful Thursday again. Today I'm thankful for the big things like my kids being healthy and getting to stay home with them. (Today I visited a friend whose new baby has been really sick, and she has to go back to work soon, leaving him in someone else's care). And at the same time I'm thankful for little things like sending silly text messages to Jenn all day, playing in the sprinkler with Adam, and hand-me-downs. Seriously, we get the best hand-me-downs. I have several friends and relatives who have passed down clothes to my kids and they are all so cute! It is a huge blessing just to get them, but then to have them be adorable is just an added bonus!

Look at this

I usually don't think my kids look too much alike, but look at this picture. They have the exact same expression. They look just alike in this picture. I don't know why they both looked so surprised. I just wanted to take their picture because they were so cute playing together. I guess I interrupted playtime!

Milestones

Guess what? Adam is finally potty training. We had tried a few times before but it didn't go well. Then I decided to wait until he was out of school, then we moved...So, here we are now, trying again and he's doing really well! I'm very proud of him and he is very proud of himself! He's still not totally there, but he's getting close! Yay Adam!

Sarah has become an expert crawler!! Once she got the hang of it, she really took off. She's all over the house now. She likes to go into different rooms and check everything out. Her favorite place (and where we usually find her) is under the end table in the corner of our living room. It's in between two couches so she's the only one who can fit in that little spot. She loves it. I'll have to take a video for you so you can see her in action. It's pretty cute. Yay Sarah!

Well look at me makin' Sunday dinner

Okay, so technically we got one of those already made rotisserie chickens and Jake sliced it up. But, I totally served it with mac & cheese, salad, green beans, bread with butter and banana pie for dessert. Hello, I think that counts! Oh and just for the record, we didn't all eat all of those sides. The salad was for me, green beans for the kids, mac & cheese for Adam, it just sounded better that way. :)

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for my wonderful friends and family. I am thankful for my awesome husband and our sweet kids.

I'm so thankful as I think about Adam going with me to "big church" on Wednesday. He sang and danced and it seemed as if he really understood about praising God. It reminded me of that childlike faith that the Bible talks about. I'm thankful for a daily reminder of that.

I'm thankful that it's summertime! There are so many things I love about summer but I'll save those for another Thankful Thursday.

Precious

She's so sweet. Are these baby doll clothes or what? I love this little nightgown. It's from Grams. Sarah looks like a baby doll when she wears it. Sweet girl!

Weekend in Baton Rouge

We had a nice weekend in BR. It was nice to see everyone. The kids and I stayed with Grams. She is so sweet and is very special to me. We mostly visited at her house, but we did take a trip to the Mall of Louisiana. The kids had fun playing in the play area and riding the carousel. We also went to a fun kids place called Monkey Biz with some of my cousins. We spent some time at Mamaw's house too. We had our favorite Fleur De Li's pizza. Everyone was busy with wedding preparations. Mom and JoAnn made the wedding cake. They had a hard time but it turned out beautifully and tasted great. :) I'm so happy for Aunt Amy & Maurice and they seem very happy! It was a nice weekend. Check out the pictures at the top of my page on my new "scrapblog" pages!

How Fun!

Remember these???
Little People! (the old kind, choking hazard style) I used to LOVE to play with these. I wonder where Adam gets it? (He loves to play with little people.) My grandma still has them at her house, the ones that my cousins and I used to play with. While we were visiting this weekend, I got them out, you know, for Adam. My cousin Jamie & I got on the floor and created a little people scene, just like the old days. It was so much fun! Adam said I was getting out too many toys and making a mess. Once we finally got everything where we wanted it, we decided to let Adam play. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

At the beginning of May, I put a counter at the bottom of my page to see how many views it was getting. By the end of the month it was up to 600! Wow! I'm sure a lot of those were me, checking to see how many I had, ha ha. And it counted everytime I posted something too. But, anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for reading it. I've really enjoyed writing on it, sharing pictures and finding cute things to add to it! So, thanks for taking the time to visit my page!
