Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!
This weekend was the ladies retreat for the Met Church. We had so much fun! The theme was "Promenade with The King" which is a fancy way of saying "your walk with God." But since it had the word promenade, those crazy girls in charge of planning, decided to hold a "tacky prom." Let's just say it's a good thing my camera is broken because we all looked very, very tacky. It was funny and lots of fun. The rest of the retreat was nice too. I love girl time (girl talk, crafts, food, hello!) and it's always nice to have a little break from real life and spend some time learning more about our awesome God. Oh, and I have to brag on my sweet husband. He took care of the kids all weekend AND when I got home he had gotten me flowers and a girl movie! (Enchanted!) How sweet is that? He's the best! I hope all of you had a good weekend too.

Wonderful Wednesday (aka Thankful Thursday a day early)
Well it's not Thursday yet, but I am feeling especially thankful today, so I'll just get started a day early.
1. The biggest reason for my thankfulness today is... Jacob got offered a new job! This is huge because he has wanted this job for the past 2 years! He is so excited. He'll be an outside technician for AT&T! I'm so proud of him and excited for him. He has worked really hard for this.
2. It's Jenn's birthday, which means the beginning of our monthly family birthday parties for the year. My brother's is tomorrow, Adam & Sam are in May, my dad in June, mine in July, Sarah's in August, Mom's in September and Jacob's in October. Our family gets together every time it's someones birthday. We do dinner, gifts, cake. It's lots of fun and I'm very thankful for my family.
3. I got a package in the mail today, which is always fun. This time it was fun stuff for Adam's birthday party.
4. The kids are taking a nap at the same time and that is always awesome.
5. This weekend is the Ladies Retreat with our church. I'm so looking forward to some time with my mom, time with my girls, time with God, and of course the "Tacky Prom" we will be having.

Thankful Thursday
We have just been busy, busy lately. I'm thankful that I'm having a quiet evening at home tonight. I'm thankful for the pretty flowers & Texas bluebonnets that are starting to bloom. I'm thankful that both kids are feeling better, they both had a turn being sick over the past few weeks. I'm thankful for our friends and our fun weekend together. I'm so thankful for my parents and all of our family. And I'm thankful for all that God is doing in my life. He is doing a lot right now, I'll have some updates for you over the next few weeks!

Camping Trip!
We had so much fun on our camping trip this weekend! We went to Lake Murray in Oklahoma. I used to go there as a kid, so it was fun but kind of weird to be there as an adult with my own kids! Jenn and Sam came with us too. We got there late Friday evening and got everything set up. Then we roasted marshmallows and had Smores. We also had some Peeps left over from Easter, so we roasted them too. They were yummy! When we went to bed, we all froze! It was COLD at night! The next day we made a Walmart run for some extra blankets and sweatshirts. Saturday most of the group went horseback riding. I was so proud of Adam & Sam for riding horses! They were so big! We spent the rest of the day walking around, flying kites, cooking, EATING!, visiting, watching the kids play in the dirt. It was lots of fun! Sarah enjoyed the trip too. The girls stayed up late talking, which we love to do. We left Sunday after a delicious breakfast around the campfire! It was a great trip!

Thankful Thursday
This has been a crazy busy week around here...
1. I'm thankful that we had a day at home today. (School was closed due to a power outage from the bad storms last night).
2. I'm thankful that I still keep in touch with the girls I taught with and that I got to see them tonight.
3. I'm thakful that we are going camping this weekend with some friends. We love camping and are going to a really fun state park in Oklahoma.
4. I'm thankful that Jenn & Sam are going camping with us!
5. I'm so thankful for my husband, precious kids, amazing family, my awesome friends. We've had several people that we know, who have died unexpectedly recently. It makes me stop and appreciate all that God has given me and thank him for the incredible gift of life and all that he has blessed me with. Don't forget to stop and thank him. Happy Thankful Thursday!

What's next, a minivan?
So I am officially a mom now, I have joined the world of "couponing" (yes, that is an actual term, I didn't make that up). I've liked the idea of clipping and organizing coupons since I got married but really didn't understand how it all worked and how to really make the most of the coupons I had clipped, so I just never bothered with it. Then a few weeks ago, my friend Kristen started blogging about couponing and all of the great deals she had gotten. I looked at some websites and got some tips. Then this weekend I went to a seminar all about saving money on groceries. It was so good and I learned so much. I came home and did just what I had learned. I made a "nerd binder" (as Jacob lovingly referred to it.) to organize my coupons, then I made my grocery list around the sales for the week and the coupons I had.
And guess what...on my first time to really use the system, I saved...
Are you ready for this....
63 DOLLARS!!!
Isn't that amazing! I was so excited and now I'm totally hooked on this new world that I have discovered. Maybe this weekend we'll go shopping for a minivan. :)

Jacob's Granny
If you have a minute, please say a prayer for Jacob's Granny. She has been in a lot of pain lately. She is having a procedure tomorrow where they will burn some nerves using shots in her spine. (ouch!) Please pray that everything goes smoothly and that it is succesful. Thank you! We went to see her tonight. She was doing pretty well and enjoyed the visit with her sweet babies. Adam entertained her, as usual! She says he reminds her a lot of Jake at that age, why doesn't that surprise me? :)

They've got the right stuff
So, did you hear the news? New Kids on The Block are reuniting! Aren't you excited? I know I am! Who was your favorite? I started out liking Jordan the best but then changed to Joe. I remember my NKOTB shirt that I wore with a hot pink skirt and black biker shorts. I was so cool. ha ha. I'm sure I either had a side ponytail or a banana clip with it too. Oh, and my swatch with the protective cover. Very, very cool. Anyway, Jenn was so lucky, she had the barbie type doll of Jordan, complete with a braid! She was cool too. But even luckier was Kasey. I didn't know her at the time, but she got to go to the concert!!! Actually my parents promised me that they would get me tickets the next time NKOTB came to Dallas but they never came back. So, here we are, all these years later, I just might have to take them up on that! :)
Thankful Thursday
2. I am thankful that Sarah is feeling better after being sick this week.
3. I am thankful that my family from out of town, keeps in touch with an email group, and that we have all started doing Thankful Thursdays!
4. I am thankful that Kasey brought us a play kitchen and some clothes for Sarah!
5. I'm thankful that our church puts each week's message online so we can still hear it if we miss church. Pastor Bill is so good, you should check out some of the messages...http://www.metchurch.com/resources/archive.asp.

Hello Arizona
So, Jacob works for AT&T and in his department here in Texas, he works with people from Arizona & other states. They talk on the phone and through instant messenger and have become friends. One of these friends got married at Walmart! Anyway, he tells them about our cute kids & some of them read our blog. So, today we got a package from his friend Lynn. It was for Adam (and Jacob, ha ha), it was this fun stuff...

SPLAT! It's like a sticky ball, you throw it & it goes flat, then turns back into a ball. Adam's having lots of fun with it. Thank you Lynn. And to all of our Arizona friends, hello from Texas!
