If Adam was stranded on a desert island...
Today my creative boy found some empty plastic bins (you know the ones with a picture of a child climbing in with a big X over it, I know, I live life on the edge). He went and gathered his belongings then set sail in the boat (well then he changed it to a rocket ship). Anyway, the items he took were...his cowboy pillow from grandma, the matching cowboy blanket, a box of raisins, and his Bible. How precious is that!

TV Talk
I just love it when Jacob and I have a show that we like to watch together. Most of the shows we watch are because one of us likes it. We both love King of Queens because Kevin James is just hilarious. We have lots of those on DVD. We like to watch the Soup on E, when we remember. But, our current favorite, you might even call it an obsession is...

It is SO good! It's dramatic, suspenseful and totally addicting! We've only recently gotten in to it, so we had to go to blockbuster and rent the first season on DVD. Don't tell us what happens, we are just now on season 2 and we are totally hooked! We stay up way too late watching it. If you're not watching it, go rent the first DVD, you will be hooked too. It's GOOD! Okay, gotta go see what happens next!
Our Fun Weekend
We had a great time on our little weekend get-away to Tyler. We went with Becky & Baylee for the Azalea Run. We walked and had a great time. Once most of the crowd got ahead of us, we let Adam get out of the stroller. He ran with Baylee and had a blast. He kept saying he was running in the race! He was trying to win. :) It was cute.
The flowers there were SO beautiful! The run was in the Azalea district there, so pretty! It was a neighborhood of older homes with beautiful gardens. The houses on two of the streets backed up to each other and in between them was the most beautiful, open, common garden area, I wish I had a picture of it. I really enjoyed seeing all of the flowers there.
After the run and a trip to a flower market, we went to the Caldwell Zoo. The landscaping there was awesome too! We took tons of pictures in the gorgeous flowers at the zoo. We had fun looking at the animals too. Adam was very worn out by the end.
It was a fun weekend!

Thankful Thursday, Friday edition
It's been a busy week for us, but a good one!
I'm thankful that we survived our first full week of work/pre-school and everything went pretty well. Adam likes his class a lot. Sarah's teachers call her their star student because she's such a happy baby.
I'm thankful that we are taking a little roadtrip this weekend with Becky (Jacob's mom) and Baylee (our neice). We are going to Tyler, Texas for a "fun run" (just for the record, I don't think those words belong together, I'll be "fun walking instead"). But, it will be fun just to get away. We're going to go out to eat and maybe go to the zoo while we are there too. They are also supposed to have beautiful flowers in bloom that we will see while we are there too.

Happy Easter!
We had a nice Easter and I hope all of you did too. After church we went to my parent's house for brunch. We got to see my Aunt Renee & Uncle Jim, my cousin Kelly and her family and our friends the Jones's. The food was delicious and the kids had fun hunting for Easter eggs. It was a nice day! I have more pictures to post when I have more time. (How cute is Sarah in her pretty dress!)

Sarah is 7 Months Old!!!
What a fun day!
Wow, we packed a lot into this day! We got an early start and have been busy ever since. This morning I took the kids to St.Timothy's for Easterfest. It was a carnival type thing with cute games, crafts, the Easter story and an egg hunt. Adam had fun & got to see Grandma who was there helping. (We left Jacob at home, doing his favorite Saturday activity...cleaning!)
After the carnival, Mom & I took the kids to Chick-fil-a for lunch where for the THIRD time Adam climbed to the very top of the play ground and got too scared to come down. The other kids tried to help him but he, once again, would not come down. He started crying for Grandma, and like any good Grandma would, there she went, climbing up to the top to get the little monkey. I think we are going to take a break from those fast food playgrounds for a while.
Anyway, we came home and everyone took a nap, while I worked on the kids scrapbooks for a little while. THEN...Jacob went to pick up a playhouse that we got for FREE from freecycle! Adam was so excited when he came back with that new toy! He didn't even care that the door was missing! :) We played outside with that for a while.
Then after a Walmart run and a quick stop at Grandma & Papa's we came home and dyed Easter eggs! The kit we got had stickers to make little zoo animals with the eggs. Adam enjoyed that & Daddy did too! :) We finally got the kids to bed, I baked some cookies for tomorrow & now we have to help the Easter bunny with a few things!

Guess who's sitting up???
Thankful Thursday
I'm thankful for these little sweethearts...
(Sarah smiles whenever she sees the camera, even if she's eating!)
And for Adam and his wild imagination. Today he went to the jungle...
And for this guy...
And I'm thankful that Jenn came over today for a visit...
I'm thankful that Spring is here! And that this Sunday is Easter! I'm thankful for all that Easter means, for the amazing gift that God gave us in his son Jesus and for all that He has done for me. I encourage all of you to go to church this Sunday and learn more about Him. You won't be dissapointed!

Works For Me Wednesday!
Wow, it's Wednesday and I actually have a WFMW for all of you with young kids! I didn't come up with this idea, but I'm having fun doing it. We keep most of the kids toys in their bedroom. But, we do have 3 baskets in our living room that have toys and books. The baskets are pretty small and don't hold much. So, every few weeks I change out the toys and books in the living room baskets. I usually just do this randomly as I'm cleaning Adam's room. But, for Easter, I put Easter books in the book basket & little Easter toys in the toy basket. Adam has had fun playing with the Easter eggs and little buckets and reading some books that are usually put away. This is totally a teacher thing to do, but it works for me! :)Tuesday, March 18, 2008
A New "B" !
My new favorite snack...
Okay, other than the aforementioned Reeses eggs (yum), these Pita Chips are my new favorite snack. They are so good! We bought a huge bag at Sam's and I just can't stop eating them. The good news is they are low-fat and baked, the bad news is a serving is only 7 chips, and that's just not nearly enough. I've been enjoying the "sea salt" variety but I'm sure the others are also delicious. They are good all by themselves but even better with some dip. Anyway, they are good, and you should all try them. And since they are so low fat, you can totally reward yourself with a Reeses egg. :)

It's comming...
I went outside tonight to get some things from my car and that's when it hit me. The days are getting warmer, summer is on it's way, and do you know what that means...frog season is comming. Ewwwwww! I hate frogs. Some would even tell you, I am scared of them. Well, not in the afraid they are going to hurt me way, just the, I wasn't expecting you to jump out at me & I didn't appreciate it, kind of way. Oh yuck, I just really, really, really, really, don't like frogs.Last summer we were outside with my dad & we saw a small frog on the sidewalk. I was going to try to be brave and show Adam. We both bent down to look at it and just as he reached out to pet the little guy, I screamed and jumped, totally scaring Adam, and the little frog too. For the longest time my dad would ask Adam if he liked frogs & Adam would say, "no, they are scary." That's my boy.
This is the only frog I do like...
How was your weekend?
Ours was good. Friday night the kids went to Pawpaw & G's house so Jacob and I could have a date. Saturday morning we took the kids to an Easter Egg hunt at the park by our house. It was fun. They had it divided up by ages, and there were only a few little ones. So, Adam got to stay out there hunting eggs for a while. Then he got his face painted, played some games, did a little craft, and got his favorite treat...popcorn! He had fun there. After that we went to Sam's to get a membership & do some shopping. We had lots of samples and weren't hungry for lunch! We went to church Saturday night, so we had a lazy morning today. Then Sarah & I got some groceries. Then we all went to Pawpaw & G's for hamburgers. Kasey and Baylee were there too. It was a busy weekend, but we had lots of fun and very nice weather!

Spring Fashion Show...Sarah Style
We're having a warm Spring day, so Sarah just had to try on some of her pretty dresses. Really, she begged me to let her, and take pictures too. Here are a few of them. The last two pics are the same dress, I just thought they were both so cute with her big blue eyes. So, which dress is your favorite? Oh, and apparently this Spring Adam will be sporting the pink bunny hat. Don't tell his Daddy! :)

Growing up
This growing up stuff is hard for mommies. Last night I was giving Adam a bath & he took the washcloth from me and said, I can do it myself. And he was right, he could. And so, as he washed his own arms, legs, face and tummy, then proceeded to shampoo his own hair with only a little help, I had one of those sad mommy moments of realizing that my baby is growing up.

Thankful Thursday
Well I'm thankful for the paycheck that I'll be getting from working these extra days. (I'm working at the pre-school 4 days a week until the end of the school year, filling in for a teacher who had a baby.) I'm thankful that my mom works there too and that today she brought me a yummy lunch! I'm thankful for the warmer weather and extra daylight that we are having. I'm thankful that Adam isn't scared of the Easter bunny this year & he sat with him for a picture today. And I'm trying to have some willpower, but I'm thankful for the basket of Easter candy Adam got at school today. I guess this is one time that it's good that he's 2 and doesn't like to share because I really need to stay away from the Easter candy! But, oh I just have to add that I am thankful for those Reses eggs- YUM!Tuesday, March 11, 2008
Fun with photoshop...
I'm still trying to figure it out, but I sure am having fun playing around with it!
