Just checkin in
Nothing too much has been going on with us. I just better check in so my mom & Aunt Cathy don't fuss at me! :) Over the last few weeks we all took a turn being sick. Luckily Sarah didn't get sick but she did get a weird rash on her back. I took her to the doctor, they said it was a reaction to something but they weren't too concerned. Now that she has learned to roll over, she wants to be moving all the time. She doesn't like to just be held, like a baby. She wants to squirm, play, wiggle and roll. She rolls on to her tummy then she gets really mad. She does not like being on her tummy. As soon as we help her get back on her back, she immediatly rolls over again. It's a fun little game! Grandma is leaving tomorrow for Baton Rouge for a week and to go to Mardi Gras. I'm sure they will have fun! We will miss her! I guess that is about all of our news for today! Here's what happens if you leave the daddy home with your little princess...
No, it's not a ponytail, it's a mowhawk! :)

Thankful Thursday
1. First of all, I'm thankful that we are all finally feeling better. Adam, Jacob and I all had a turn being sick. I'm thankful that Sarah didn't get it.
2. I'm thankful for my kids and that I get to be home with them. Yes, at times they drive me crazy but they really bring me more joy than I ever thought was possible. And look at them, aren't they so cute?? :)
3. I'm thankful for Jacob. He's an awesome husband and an amazing dad to our little cuties. And I'm thankful that he'll be home soon, because this just might be one of those days that the little darlings are driving me crazy! :)
4. I'm thankful for our little house, despite it's flaws, it's cute and cozy and we've done a lot to make it feel like home. And I'm thankful for my in-laws who have made that work out for us.
5. I'm thankful for the rest of our family too, and all of the friends who might as well be family! God has really blessed us! We love you all! Happy Thursday! And be thankful...tomorrow's Friday! :)

Works for Me Wednesday!
Adam got a book for Christmas where he has to find little pictures in a bigger picture. He's had so much fun with it. Yesterday we decided to make one of our own. We used pictures we cut out of magazines, a few photos, stickers, and some Diego pictures that we found online. It was fun to make and it kept him busy for a long time! After it dried, we stapled it together and he's had lots of fun finding the pictures and reading his very own I Spy book!
Want to play??? Can you find...a kiwi, Sammy with Thomas the Train, 3 pictures of Diego, a teddy graham, and a box of Mac&Cheese?

Lazy weekend
We didn't do too much this weekend, none of us were feeling good. We took some naps, watched some DVD's, got some groceries, played with the kiddos and tried to stay warm! Sarah's getting so giggly and social. She's really trying to roll over, she's going to get it any day now! Hope you had a good weekend!

Thankful Thursday

Well, as promised here is my first edition of Thankful Thursday. (I should probably mention that I got that little picture from this website http://www.eph2810.com/?page_id=459, which of course I am thankful for, ha ha)
1. I am thankful that my dad came over for a lunch visit and that he brought sandwiches from Subway.
2. I am thankful that I am finally starting to feel better after being sick this week.
3. I am thankful that my wonderful husband took a few days off to take care of me, the kids and the house while I was sick. And that Adam was so good and let me get a lot of rest.
4. Speaking of rest, I'm thankful that it's almost naptime for all of us!
5. I'm thankful for the huge stack of Barney videos Aunt Kasey gave Adam. Yes, I know, I just said I'm thankful for that annoying purple monster but seriously, Adam was content and entertained for hours while I wasn't feeling good.
6. I'm thankful that Adam has been enjoying coloring lately. I would prefer, however, that he would enjoy his new hobby on paper instead of on the kitchen floor, the wall, and quite the masterpiece on his bookshelf.
7. I'm thankful that the Mr.Clean Magic Eraser cleans crayon marks off of most surfaces.
8. I'm thankful that Adam has such a vivid imagination and that yesterday when he took every single Kleenex out of the box, he was just trying to pretend like it was snowing!
9. I'm thankful that Sarah is finally learning to sleep all night.
10. I'm thankful that even on this freezing cold, sick day, I have 10 things to be thankful for and I could keep going! But I will stop for now!
Hope you are all having a great Thursday. Leave me a comment and tell me what you are thankful for, or if you have a blog, try doing a Thankful Thursday of your own!

Works For Me Wednesday
Some of my friends with blogs do weekly posts like "Works For Me Wednesday" and "Thankful Thursday." I'm going to try adding these to my blog too. Hope you like it! Don't forget, anyone can leave comments, you don't have to have a google account. So for this first week, whats working for me is my new & current favorite cookbook:Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfield
Have I told you how much I love this cookbook? I know some don't like it because the whole idea of it is that she wants you to deceive your family but that's not exactly how I'm using it. We have the hardest time getting Adam to eat fruit and veggies. Honestly Jacob and I aren't crazy about tons of veggies either, and the ones that I like aren't the ones that he likes and vice-versa. And besides, Adam is pretty much clueless about what's in his food anyway, so I really don't' feel like I'm lying to him. At his age, he has no idea that butternut squash isn't "supposed" to be in his grilled cheese sandwich. And he wasn't complaining when he ate some healthy cupcakes with carrots hidden in them. I decided it would be a good thing for our whole family. So I got the cookbook and started trying the recipes. First I had to spend an afternoon, peeling, cooking, and pureeing veggies. It took a while, but I've used them a lot and still have some left, so they are lasting a long time. Since then I've made all kinds of things that we already like, only now they have extra vitamins and nutrients because there are veggies snuck into them. She really has figured out just how much/how little it takes so that you really can't taste them. My favorites so far have been the potato soup (with cauliflower and carrot puree), oatmeal (with pumpkin), and the carrot cupcakes. So there you go, my first edition of Works For Me. What's working for you??

Weekend Update
I hope all of you had a nice weekend. Ours was good. Saturday we went to a birthday party. Later we went to Kasey & Baylee's house to play their new wii game. I'm so much better at wii bowling than real bowling. Anyway, then Jacob went out with some friends. I put the kiddos to bed and (finally) got started on Sarah's scrapbook. It's looking really cute! Today after church, Mom, Jenn and I went out to lunch & shopping while Jacob watched the kids, nice! We came home and watched the Cowboys last game of the season! Here are a few pics from our weekend...

Girl Talk...Pictures of the Year '07
Okay, if you are a man, you might as well just stop reading this now. It's about to get girly! Mom, you should just get some kleenx now, ha ha. So, girls- as you know I've been a little busy these last few months, so I am just now getting around to starting little Sarah's scrapbook. As I've been going back over the pictures, I have found these two that are just my absolute favorite pictures of the year, maybe my favorite ever. They almost make me want to cry and I'm going to tell you why.
This first one. Precious. You know as a mother you worry a little about what having a second baby is going to be like for your first baby. I wondered for so long what that moment would be like when Adam met our new baby for the first time. The look on his face in this picture just says it all. I just love it...
This next one. Well as most of you know Sarah's entrance into the world was crazy fast. Most of that whole night and next day are a blur. This moment though, I will always remember. My family and some of Jacob's family were there. We were all just sitting around, talking, laughing, admiring our newest little family member. The people that we love, just there together, two families brought together for this special day. It was like God just whispered down from heaven, this is it, this is what life is all about, enjoy these precious moments and all the ones in between. I'm so thankful for these people and for the wonderful memories of that wonderful day.
Okay, emotional girly moment over! I think I'll go take a bubble bath or eat some chocolate, ha ha!

Funny Boy
Adam just keeps us laughing all the time. The things he come up with are just too funny. He has a big imagination and he remembers everything! Here are some of the things he's told us lately.
*He's in a band, he plays the trumpet
*He works at Chuck E. Cheese, they pay him $200. He brings his lunch there.
*His favorite animals are scary lions, Sarah's favorite are baby elephants.
*When he's doing something he's not supposed to (like climbing on furniture), he tells us it's okay, he'll be careful.
*When Jacob plays rough with him he says "be careful, don't break me"
*His new favorite food is top-tarts and he likes check-up on his french fries.
*He still talks about that life of Jesus Christmas display we went to. He says Jesus went to a wedding and made something like juice, and at the end God gave him hot chocolate and a cookie. (That's not exactly how it happened!)
Funny, funny boy!

To:Sarah From:Sarah
I have a cousin named Sarah. She's really sweet. For Christmas she gave my little Sarah a onesie with her/their name on it. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture but trust me, it's cute! Along with some little tiny kakhi pants and a big bow, does it get any cuter? I don't think so! Thank you Sarah!
