Keeping us on our toes...

So Adam is officially in the "can't take your eyes off of him for one minute" stage. We are suddenly finding ourselves childproofing like crazy. The kid has become a whirlwind of independence, a very curious monkey. Here's an overview of his last 24 hours...

-putting a magnet in the VCR, then a movie, totally messing up the movie and probably the VCR because we can't see the magnet to get it out

-scooting a chair into his closet so he could reach the toys that I put out of his reach for a reason

-emptying the hamper and wearing it on his head like a spaceman

-spilling milk all over the floor, then going to get the vaccum cleaner to try to clean it up

-emptying out the kitchen cabinet of all it's contents, then climbing on in

-hiding from bad guys in a new place he discovered...the DRYER! (thankfully he didn't close the door)

Yeah, he's a handfull these days. Luckily at the same time he is learning some nice things too. He really is sweet to little Sarah & loves to make her laugh. And usually after he does one of these crazy things and thinks about it a while, he will come and tell me, without any promting on my part, that he is really sorry. And that is pretty sweet. And now when I tell him I love him, he replies with "i love you too mommy" and that is pretty much precious.

Snow Day!!

We had a fun treat this afternoon, it snowed here! I know you Northerners have had enough winter but here in Texas, we think a snow day is pretty fun! Adam & I went out and played for a little while...

I think Sarah had the right idea about how to spend a cold day...

I had fun working on a new craft project, card making!

And poor Jacob was stuck at...

Well, not the funny one with Jim & Pam and Michael Scott, just his regular old, boring office. And he has to go tomorrow even if the roads are bad. Say a little prayer for him and all who are driving on the slick roads.

Thankful Thursday

1. I am thankful that I got an early start on my day and that it's only 10:00 and I've already gotten so much done! I feel so productive!
2. I'm thankful that Adam & Sarah were being so good this morning so I was able get so much done and have a long phone conversation with my friend Lisa.
3. I'm thankful that my friend Lisa is going to have another baby!
4. I'm thankful for my little cuties and the ADORABLE pictures I got of them in their new Easter clothes.
5. I'm thankful that it is March, and Spring is on it's way, even though it might snow later today. Crazy Texas weather!

Just a day, just an ordinary day...

Do you ever have a day when you just stop and realize how much you love your life, just the way it is?

Today was like that.

Giggly girls & cute boy (Videos)

Here is a cute video of Sarah playing with her friend Delaney. She was cracking up! It's the sweetest sound! The other one is Adam talking about camping.

Our Weekend Adventure

We had a blast camping this weekend. We went to Holiday Park at Lake Benbrook, just about 20 minutes outside of Fort Worth. We went with two other familes. Sarah spent the day with us, then Grandma came to get her for the night. The kids had so much fun playing outside all afternoon. The adults had fun too. The dads took the kids fishing at the lake. We cooked hot dogs for dinner, and of course, we had smores! The only bad thing was there was a burn ban going on, so we had to do all of our cooking over a grill instead of a campfire. The kids loved sleeping in the tents! We had awesome breakfast burritos in the morning. It was a great time and we can't wait to go back again sometime soon!

Fun Day at the ZOO!

We took advantage of a beautiful day yesterday. Jacob left work early & we took a family trip to the Fort Worth Zoo. It was lots of fun. We let Adam lead. As I've mentioned, Adam has a big imagination, and it's not uncommon for him to just look out the window and say "look I see a hippo" or a monkey, tiger, elephant, or whatever. So, it was so much fun to see how excited he was as that all came to life for him. He looked to one side and saw huge elephants and right across the way were the tall giraffes. It was a whole new zoo experience to see it through his eyes! Jacob, Adam & I really enjoyed it.

Now, Sarah on the other hand. Well, she's a bit of a princess, and spending the day at the hot, stinky, zoo & not being held, was not her idea of a fun way to spend an afternoon. She was a little fussy but she did smile for a few pictures of her first zoo trip. I guess she's just not old enough to appreciate it yet. We'll have to take her back when she starts seeing hippos out her window! :)
