Getting caught!
He's pretty smart!
He went & got this from his room so he could sneak some cookies before dinner. I can't really complain, they were rice cakes! At least he was going for something healthy!

Dinner talk
We cracked up last night when we sat down to dinner, after saying our prayers, Adam turned to Jake and said "did you have a good day Daddy, did you go to the job?" We were not expecting that! It was so cute! He's getting so grown up to sit at the dinner table & have a real conversation!

Big boy bed...night one!
Well tonight we made the switch from the crib to the toddler bed. We still have the crib in Adam's room for the new baby (they will be sharing a room). Adam was very excited & got really wound up about his room being rearranged and getting the new bed. We were worried about how bedtime would go. But...so far, so good. He was really tired tonight, which made it a little easier. We gave him a bath, read bedtime stories, said our prayers & rocked for a few minutes, then put him in his new bed & kissed him goodnight. He went right to sleep! YAY! I'm still not sure how naptimes are going to to, and other nights when he's not so tired. But, for tonight, it's going well!
Family Reunion
We had a nice weekend at our family reunion. It was great to see everyone. We got to see my grandparents, aunts, uncle, lots of cousins, my mom's cousins & their families, and we got to meet the newest little member of our family...Emily! (my cousin Katie's baby!) I didn't take very many pictures, but here is one of Emily & one of the boys playing in a big mud puddle after it rained!

Happy 4th of July!
I love July 4th! I love to be with my family & watch fireworks, especially when they are set to patriotic music. July 4th represents all that summer is about...swimming, bar-b-que, eating ice cream, being with family & friends, and of course the fireworks. I love that patriotic feeling of being with fellow Americans (in our matching $5 Old Navy T-shirts) & being proud of our country, our flag & all who are risking their lives to serve the US. We had a nice 4th, bar-b-qued, hung out with the family & watched the fireworks with my two favorite people in the world. Here are a few pics of how my little man has changed since his first July 4th! (the last 2 are from tonight.)

San Antonio Trip!
We had so much fun on our first family vacation! We spent two days at Sea World & had a blast! Adam loved seeing Shamu & all of the animals. We got to see dolphins (up really close), seals, sharks, otters, and lots of different kinds of fish. One of his favorite things was watching the rollercoaster come down "really really fast" as we sat at the bottom waiting for Jacob! He would have been happy to sit there all day & wait for "one more". It's funny what amazes them! We had fun at the Lost Lagoon water park there too. He enjoyed staying in the hotel too- he got to swim & eat breakfast in bed! Sunday we went to the Riverwalk & the Alamo and had a fun day there too. We did a lot of walking & came home very tired! It was a great weekend!
Five Happy Years!
On Friday, Jacob and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary! Wow, I really can't believe how fast five years have gone by! Here are some of the highlights...
- Europe trip for Blake & Nicole's wedding, and a romantic proposal along the water in Venice, Italy!!!
- An exciting year of wedding planning with mom (we let Jake help a little too!)
- A fairytale wedding followed by the most fun party (reception) EVER!
- A week in Maui!
- Becoming a teacher
- Buying a house
- Taking a cruise with some of our best friends
- Finding a church home & meeting some wonderful friends there!
- Welcoming our precious baby boy, Adam!
- Becoming a stay-at-home mom!
- Selling a house!
- Working on our first (and last???) fixer-upper house!
- First family vacation!
- Anxiously awaiting the arrival of our next blessing in August!
It's been a blast & I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful man by my side as we continue on this adventure! He's an excellent husband & dad and I can hardly wait to see what God has planned for us for the next 5 years!
